Timeline Series review by Turpow

This is a MUST PLAY for every true Half-Life fan. I can't believe I never played it until now: I immediately became addicted to it and finished the whole series in just three days. The story is simple at first, but the creator makes it more interesting with every new chapter of the mod. Basically, you are Gordon Freeman, and you have been given a mission by G-Man: stop a rebel organization, which you will discover it's related to the Nazis, from manipulating Earth's timeline and conquering the world. Timeline 1: Honestly, I didn't like this one very much. It mostly uses standard Half-Life resources, and feels like your typical Black Mesa mission. There are some interesting parts where you travel in time, but they're unfortunately too simple and short. I give this one a 7/10. Timeline 2: Probably the BEST one in the series. Once you reach London, you'll understand why I think it's the best one. The story is interesting, basically there has been an Ice Age in another dimension of Earth, and Xen aliens managed to overrun Earth's military forces. This new Earth is quite different from the one you know, because the British Empire still exists and controls a large part of the planet. Gordon Freeman does exist too in this dimension, but he has been killed and you have to replace him to fix the situation. This mod is full of beautiful landscapes full of ice and snow, you'll visit a snowy London, and you'll go to Geneva in Switzerland. The only real flaw is hard combat (especially with Black Ops assassins) and lack of ammo. 9/10 Timeline 3: A good one, but not as good as the predecessor. In this one, you'll have to eliminate the Nazis forever, as they managed to come back and try to manipulate the timeline again. While this one lacks the amazing icy landscapes of Timeline 2, it includes some interesting locations such as a 1800s London, or Earth in the future. The combat is easier and there's much more ammo compared to Timeline 2. 8/10. Recommended.
